What Schools Accept Florida Prepaid College Plans?

When is Florida Prepaid Open Enrollment?

It’s time to start planning and preparing for the future, and not just your future but your children’s educational future as well. If you put off starting a savings plan to pay for your kids college or university expenses you could end up spending a LOT more than you should have to. Beyond that no parent wants their children to have to start their adult life after college with a mountain of debt.

Open enrollment for Florida Prepaid College Plans begins on February 1st and Florida Prepaid College Plans start as low as $45 per month.

The pricing of the Florida Prepaid College Plan is directly related to a state law that was passed in 2014 that restricted the amount of increase of the Tuition Differential Fee to six percent for preeminent State Universities, and zero percent for all other State Universities. Before this law was passed, the increase could be as much as 15 % each year.

When Does Florida Prepaid Open Enrollment End?

The Florida Prepaid College Plan’s Open Enrollment period normally ends on April 30th. That will be the last day that you can lock in your Florida Prepaid Plan at this year’s price. Remember that the price of your plan depends on the age of your student when you open the plan.

How does the Florida Prepaid College Plan work?

The Florida Prepaid College Plan allows you to pay on a monthly or lump sum basis the price of your child’s college education today. The money that you pay will cover the cost of your child’s tuition, fees, and even housing. Instead of paying out of pocket when your child is ready for college, at what will likely be a much higher expense, you are locking in your rate at today’s prices.
