As the air cools and the leaves turn golden (well, they do if you are another state other than Florida like me π ), there’s something magical about cozying up with a dessert that tastes just like fall. Even though we don’t get super cool this time of the year in Florida, we still LOVE Pumpkin Spice Season, I mean who doesn’t?! This Pumpkin Spice Mousse is airy, perfectly spiced, and layered with crunchy gingersnaps and topped with fluffy whipped cream. Whether you’re hosting a holiday gathering or just want a sweet treat to enjoy with your family, this no bake pumpkin dessert is a wonderful way to savor the season’s warm flavors.
Why You’ll Love This Layered Pumpkin Spice Mousse Fall Dessert
Easy to Make: With just a few ingredients and steps, you can whip up a batch in no time.
Layered Perfection: The mousse’s pumpkin and spice flavors pair beautifully with the crunch of gingersnaps.
Perfect for Any Fall Gathering: This dessert can be prepared ahead of time, making it a stress-free addition to any holiday table. Plus, it’s ready in under 20 minutes – score!
Unlike a traditional pumpkin pie, this Thanksgiving pumpkin dessert is light and airy, making it the perfect finish after a hearty meal. Plus, it’s a great option for those looking for something quick and easy yet deliciously festive.
With individual servings, each guest can have their own cup of mousse, eliminating the need for slicing and serving. I am all about the easier, the better.
Now, I think this Pumpkin Spice Mousse Recipe is perfect the way it is, but there’s always variations to try out!
Serving Tips and Variations
Serve with a glass of milk: A cold glass of Florida Milk pairs perfectly with the warm spices in the pumpkin mousse. Personally, I think Florida Milk pairs perfectly with just about everything π
Pair with Fresh Fruit: For a fresh balance, serve alongside sliced apples or pears, which pair beautifully with the pumpkin spice flavors.
Add a caramel drizzle: For extra indulgence, add a light drizzle of caramel on top.
Try other cookies: Crushed graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or molasses also make great layers.
Add Texture with Toasted Pecans: For an extra bit of crunch, add chopped toasted pecans or walnuts as a topping.
Serve in Mini Mason Jars or Wine Glasses: Presenting the mousse in clear containers shows off the beautiful layers and makes each serving feel special.
Can This Easy Pumpkin Mousse Be Made Ahead Of Time?
Yes indeed! Prepare and layer the mousse in individual cups. Add whipped topping and some gingersnap sprinkles just before serving.
How To Store Leftovers
If you happen to have leftovers (though I doubt you will!), this Pumpkin Mousse with Gingersnaps stores well.
Refrigeration: Cover and refrigerate individual servings or transfer the mousse to an airtight container. It will stay fresh for 2-3 days.
Freezing: For longer storage, freeze the mousse without whipped topping in individual portions. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving and add fresh whipped cream or toppings if desired.
Serving Leftovers: Stir gently if the mousse has separated slightly, and refresh it with a new sprinkle of crushed gingersnaps.
Now the perfect pairing for this Thanksgiving dessert is Florida Milk, but it’s no secret that I love a good glass of wine and wine will definitely be on my Thanksgiving table, so I thought it would be only appropriate to share some wine pairing ideas.
Thanksgiving Dessert Wine Pairings
Sparkling Wine: A sparkling wine like Prosecco or a semi-sweet Champagne is a fantastic match. The bubbles help to cleanse the palate, balancing out the mousse’s richness.
Dessert Wine: A light Moscato or a late-harvest Riesling pairs wonderfully with the mousse’s spice and sweetness.
Light Red Wine: For a bolder pairing, a light red wine like Pinot Noir or a chilled Lambrusco brings out the warm flavors of the pumpkin spice without overwhelming the dessert’s delicate texture.
