No, I haven’t read the books. Yes, when I was about 5 minutes into the show, I was thinking to myself, I wish I had read the books. You do not need to read the books to enjoy this performance, in fact I went with my mom and both kids and we all enjoyed it. And none of us have read the books. However, I do want to read the books and they are now on my summer reading list. Well, at least the first one is 😉

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical has a small, yet very talented cast. There are under 10 performers in the cast and several played multiple roles, talk about talent!

Percy Jackson and his friends are “half-bloods” meaning that they are the children of the Greek gods, only one of their parents is a godly creature and by staying at the Half Blood Camp, they can be kept safe from the outside world. However, Percy’s dad, Poseidon, has other plans and Percy has to set out on a quest. Two of his brave friends join him on his journey, taking them to the Underworld and beyond. You will experience how they learn to use their talents, develop friendships and who was against them all along as they continue on to save the world.

The Lightning Thief - The Percy Jackson Musical

You may read that and think that The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is an entertaining tale. And you would be right. But, you also need to know that there is a few messages in this incredible tale that everyone needs to know.

The lesson that everyone needs to learn from The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is:

The world is filled with monsters.

Monsters can be everything from what you see on TV, to spending too much time on technology, to the monsters you have created for yourself, to the more serious monsters like robbers and the evil out there in the world.

But there are monsters. And at some point in your life, you will need to face them. And you will probably face more than one or two in your lifetime.

So, BRING ON THE MONSTERS. BRING ON THE REAL WORLD.

There is no need to hide, there is no need to face them alone.

BRING ON THE MONSTERS. BRING ON THE REAL WORLD.

You don’t have to do it alone. But there are monsters out there, and they are waiting for you.

But, you got this. You can take on the monsters, you can take on the real world.

Percy Jackson and his friends finish this electrifying performance by letting us know that they will be back next summer, and personally, I can’t wait. The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical was an amazing performance that will leave you ready for the next summer. Ready to take on the REAL WORLD.
