Blackberry Avocado Mango Protein Smoothie

I am loving all the beautiful produce at the market.  Creating a new smoothie recipe everyday has been so much fun!  Why do I love smoothies?  They are one of the easiest ways I know of to get in multiple servings of fruits and vegetables in just one sitting.  Smoothies only take a few minutes to make too, so not only is it an easy way to get in a bunch of nutrients, they are also to make!

I know that sometimes we get into a rut with our smoothies, that’s why I like to try all sorts of combinations and share the successful flavors with you all!  You can see 100+ smoothie recipes HERE in fact.  Those should keep you going for some time πŸ˜‰

In my smoothies, I like to have at least 2 veggies to go along with the yummy fruits.  Too many fruits = too many sugars.  You will also see cinnamon, turmeric, and chia seeds in most of my smoothies, all three are great for you and do very little to change the flavor of your smoothie.  So why not add them in?!

I do like adding some for of protein to my smoothies too, whether it be a powder or lowfat Greek yogurt, I feel like it keeps me fuller longer.  Which means I stay away from the snacks longer.

The blackberries in this smoothie give it a beautiful deep color, not to mention a great flavor.  The avocado makes it extra creamy, and the mango adds a yummy twist.

Health Benefits of Blackberry Avocado Mango Protein Smoothie Ingredients:

  1. Blackberries: These small but mighty berries are packed with antioxidants, particularly anthocyanins, which help combat oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. Additionally, blackberries are rich in vitamin C, which supports immune function and collagen synthesis for healthy skin.
  2. Avocado: Avocados are a nutrient-dense fruit rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats. They also contain vitamins E and K, which promote skin health and bone strength, respectively. Avocados are also a good source of potassium, which helps regulate blood pressure and muscle function.
  3. Mango: Mangoes are not only delicious but also provide a plethora of health benefits. They are loaded with vitamins A and C, which support immune function and vision health. Mangoes also contain enzymes like amylase, which aid in digestion, and fiber, which promotes digestive regularity.
  4. Cucumber: Cucumbers are hydrating and low in calories, making them a refreshing addition to your smoothie. They contain antioxidants like beta-carotene and flavonoids, which help reduce inflammation and promote skin health. Cucumbers are also high in water content, aiding in hydration and promoting a feeling of fullness.
  5. Leafy Greens: Adding a handful of leafy greens like spinach or kale to your smoothie provides a wealth of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Leafy greens are rich in vitamin K, which supports bone health, and folate, which is essential for cell growth and repair.
  6. Chia Seeds: Chia seeds are a nutritional powerhouse packed with fiber, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids. They help promote satiety, regulate blood sugar levels, and support digestive health. Chia seeds also contain essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, which are important for bone health and muscle function.
  7. Cinnamon and Turmeric: Both cinnamon and turmeric possess anti-inflammatory properties and are rich in antioxidants. Cinnamon may help regulate blood sugar levels and improve metabolism, while turmeric’s active compound, curcumin, has been studied for its potential to reduce inflammation and support joint health.
  8. Protein Powder: Adding protein powder to your smoothie helps support muscle repair and growth, especially after a workout. Choose a high-quality protein powder that contains essential amino acids necessary for protein synthesis and recovery.

Gasparilla 8k in Tampa

I used Cabot Whey Protein in this smoothie, I’m sure you are all familiar with Cabot Cheese, but did you know they had a Whey Protein Powder as well?  I didn’t until just recently, in fact, the folks at Cabot were nice enough to send it to me when I was getting ready for the Gasparilla Race here in Tampa.

Protein smoothies are great for breakfast, or even lunch, but they also great after a good workout.  They give your body and muscles the nutrients they need to keep you going.  Cabot Whey Protein Powder is unflavored, which I like because that means I can add it to smoothies, healthy snacks, and more and it won’t change the flavor.

I love these recipes, thanks for including the link for the 100+ smoothie recipes. I am on a high protein diet and I am always looking for new recipes for anything that is high in protein. Also did you know that turmeric has so many uses? One of the best things about it for me is that it helps with pain, and it has helped me a little bit. I will definitely be trying this recipe! Thanks again for sharing!!
