There are about a million different Ambrosia Salad Recipes out there, and you probably have one that you make at home already. That’s the beauty of an Ambrosia Salad, it’s completely customizable to your tastes. Want to add in grapes? Go for it! Want to add in pecans? Go for it! Want to add in maraschino cherries? Go for it! Want to add coconut? Go for it! However, if you do like coconut, I do recommended toasting the coconut first, it gives it a bit more flavor.

I know that some people call Ambrosia Salad, Watergate Salad too, I think it really all depends on what your grandparents called it. And no matter what you call this fluffy salad-like dessert, if you are here reading this post, you know you like it. Ambrosia Salad is super easy to make and is usually served around the holidays or as a side to BBQs or picnics. I know that it reminds me of summer.

What You Need To Make Cottage Cheese Ambrosia Salad is

1 15 oz. can of Crushed Pineapples, drained very well
1 11 oz can of Mandarin orange segments, drained well
1 16 oz tub of Cool Whip (make sure it’s not frozen)
1 16 oz tub of small curd cottage cheese
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 large box of Orange Jello

What You Do To Make Orange Cottage Cheese Ambrosia Salad:

In a medium sized bowl, mix the Cool Whip, cottage cheese, and orange Jello. Mix it thoroughly to dissolve the jello mix.

After mixing these ingredients together, add in the crushed pineapple and mandarin orange segments. Fold these ingredients in – don’t just whisk or stir (this helps in keeping the orange segments together).

It is best firmed up and cold, so after mixing all of the ingredients together – cover and place in the fridge at least an hour!
