The ingredients you need to make this easy caramel sauce recipe are:
- Brown Sugar
To make this recipe for homemade caramel sauce all you have to do it put everything into a small sauce pan and let it cook a little and then let it cool down so it can thicken up a tad.
Simple enough, right? I thought so. And you probably have all the ingredients at home, don’t you? Told you. No reason to run out and buy anything to make that dessert extra special. Actually, we love adding this caramel sauce to breakfast too! YES! It’s so good on top of french toast and my Challah bread pudding.

- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 stick butter
- ¼ cup milk I used skim
- 1 pinch salt
- Add brown sugar, butter and milk to a small sauce pan
- Bring to boil, stirring regularly
- Allow to cook for 3 - 5 minutes
- Allow to cool slightly to thicken
- Drizzle on top of your favorite dessert or breakfast
