You all know that I love starting my day with a nutritious smoothie. It is an easy and effective way for me to get in fruits, vegetables, and other stuff that is great for me all in one meal!

I am a avid runner and I love going to Jazzercise, being physically active also means that my joints and muscles need extra attention at times. So, making smoothies like this Blueberry smoothie are great for my body! You have to learn to take of ourselves from the inside out!

In this Blueberry Superfood Antioxidant Smoothie I use fresh frozen blueberries, carrots, cucumbers, greens, turmeric, cinnamon, chia seeds, and a splash of milk.

Healthy Superfood Blueberry Smoothie

This smoothie is FILLED with Antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

Antioxidants are important. Antioxidants protect our bodies from damage and can even help with anti-aging.

  • Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory and is also a antioxidant.
  • Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, and as an added bonus and helps with metabolism.
  • Chia seeds are also loaded with antioxidants, and also are a great source of fiber, protein, and Omega-3 Fatty Acids.
  • Blueberries are the King of Antioxidant Foods.
  • Carrots – The orange powerfood will give you vitamin A and is also linked to preventing cancer, giving you healthier looking skin and aids in digestion.
  • Cucumbers – These are great for rehydration. Cucumbers are also a great source of vitamin B, so that means they are a natural pick-me-up.

Ingredients

  • 6-7 baby carrots
  • 3-4 slices cucumber
  • 1 cup greens big handful. I used spring mix bc that was what was in my refrigerator.
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • cup fresh or frozen blueberries I used Wyman's
  • 4 oz skim milk or liquid of your choice

Instructions

  • Place ingredients as listed above into your favorite blending device
  • Blend until smooth
  • Enjoy!

  9. I purchased a bag of fruit from target labeled antioxidant mix. I actually enjoyed it. I have yet to make a smoothie. Blueberries are always delicious.

  11. I have heard a whole lot about blueberries off course and try to get them when I can, but the part I have to check out more is tumeric. I think as we age inflammation is a huge facttor . I also like your sweet potato smoothie.
    I dont have a blender that get anything smooth enough. It is a messy lump! BUT I have made popsicles and thats worked just fine. I like using bananas and cooked sweet potatoes.
