Summer is all about the warm weather, sunshine, and finding fun ways to cool down.  I’m sure you guys have noticed that lately I have been enjoying cooling down with a refreshing wine cocktail.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I still love a good glass of wine all by itself, but adding a handful of ice and some mixings is fun too.  Especially in this hot summer heat.

In this wine cocktail recipe, I used Cabernet Sauvignon, which may surprise some of you since Cab is typically a dry and rich wine.  But that’s exactly why it was perfect for mixing in a dash of summer!  I have friends that won’t drink red wine in the summer, just because it’s not “cool and refreshing”, so red wine lovers – here is your solution!  Don’t stop drinking the wines you love because the weather has warmed up, just mix ’em up a bit!  This Summer Citrus Wine Cocktail is summer in a glass, feel free to double or triple the recipe when you have friends coming to visit.  This Summer Citrus Wine Cocktail is not super sweet, but you get the refreshing taste of citrus from the OJ.

Ingredients

• ▢ Ice
• ▢ 1 teaspoon light agave
• ▢ 4 oz Cabernet Sauvignon I used CK Mondavi and Family
• ▢ 2 oz Orange Juice
• ▢ 1 oz Vodka

Instructions

• Fill glass with ice
• Pour in the Cabernet Sauvignon
• Add the agave and vodka, stir
• Top with Orange Juice
• Stir to mix
• Enjoy!
