Healthy Pumpkin Angel Food Cake
Dessert. It is one thing that I rarely indulge in. I love desserts…well, anything sweet, so that means I can’t keep them in the house in fear of me eating them all 😉 As you all know, I enjoy making recipes with a healthy, delicious twist so that we can all enjoy the foods we love with the fear of the calories. And this Pumpkin Angel Food Cake fits the bill! In fact, if you follow Weight Watchers, you will be happy to know that this dessert recipe only has 7 points per serving on the Blue Plan. The entire angel food cake will make 12 servings.
I ran into the other day and grabbed my can of Pumpkin Puree and box of Angel Food Cake and I was ready to get home and bake. As you can see, this angel food cake recipe only needs a few simple ingredients, in fact, you may have them in your pantry right now!
Not only does this fall angel food cake recipe call for just a few ingredients, it is super easy to make! To get started, you just put everything in your favorite mixer.
Once it’s mixed, pour the pumpkin angel food cake batter into an angel food pan, bundt pan, or cake pan. Then bake it! It doesn’t get much easier than that.
I have actually used made mini bundt cakes, and they ended up looking like cute pumpkins! You can see the how-to make little pumpkin angel food cakes here.
Make sure to bake it for the full time, you want the top to be a golden brown. If you under-cook it, it will fall when you take it out to cool.
I used Libby’s Pure Pumpkin in this recipe because it’s a brand that I know and trust, but if you have the store brand of pure pumpkin, I’m sure that will work too. Just be sure that you watch the measurements, this recipe does not call for a whole can of pumpkin, just 1 CUP.
If you can find the Sugar Free Angel Food Cake mix, that will save you some on your WW Points if you are watching those, I used the regular Betty Crocker variety.
And you simply can’t bake with pumpkin without Pumpkin Spice. Seriously, what is fall without Pumpkin Spice?! I use McCormick for most of my baking spices. Again, it’s a brand that I know and trust.
For my mixer, I have had a KitchenAid mixer for years. And I love it. It cleans easily, it always works great, in my opinion, it’s worth the money because it is the best.
Now here’s my Weight Watchers Angel Food Cake with Pumpkin recipe, make sure to Print It and Pin It so that you can make it again and again.

No eggs in this recipe?
No, there are no eggs in this recipe 🙂
Mine never rose. Cake mix was within expiration date. Just a flat spongey cake. 😕
Oh no! I am sorry to hear that! Did you do one cup of pumpkin, and not a full can? I know I have done that before 🙂 I have made them into bundt cakes too, https://www.foodwinesunshine.com/light-mini-pumpkin-bundt-cakes/ and have never had an issue. Keep me posted!
