Strawberry Blackberry Sweet Potato Smoothie
I have another yummy sweet potato smoothie recipe concoction for you all today! Strawberries are in season and I can’t resist grabbing a package just about every time I head into the store. Sweet potatoes are a fun vegetable to add to your smoothies, they are great for you and are said to help with inflammation naturally, which is fantastic if you like to workout. Blackberries are loaded with antioxidants and Vitamin C, and they taste great, so they make an excellent addition to your healthy smoothies too.
Turmeric also helps with inflammation, cinnamon helps boost your metabolism, and chia seeds are full of nutrients, so they are in almost every single smoothie I make as well.
Not only does this smoothie taste amazing, it has a bunch of health benefits thanks to all those nutritious ingredients. So, I thought I would share them with you, so that you know what you are enjoying!
Health Benefits of Strawberry Blackberry Sweet Potato Smoothie Ingredients:
- Strawberries: Strawberries are rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber. Vitamin C supports immune function and collagen production, while antioxidants help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the body. The fiber content aids in digestion and promotes satiety, making strawberries a nutritious addition to your smoothie.
- Blackberries: Blackberries are packed with anthocyanins, antioxidants that have been linked to improved cognitive function and heart health. They also contain vitamin C, which supports immune function, and fiber, which promotes digestive health and helps regulate blood sugar levels.
- Sweet Potato: Sweet potatoes are a great source of complex carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. They are rich in beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body and plays a role in immune function and eye health. Sweet potatoes also contain fiber, which aids in digestion and promotes feelings of fullness.
- Carrots: Carrots are loaded with beta-carotene, an antioxidant that gives them their vibrant orange color. Beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A in the body and is essential for vision health, immune function, and skin health. Carrots also contain fiber, vitamins, and minerals that support overall well-being.
- Cinnamon and Turmeric: Both cinnamon and turmeric have anti-inflammatory properties and are rich in antioxidants. Cinnamon may help regulate blood sugar levels and improve metabolism, while turmeric’s active compound, curcumin, has been studied for its potential to reduce inflammation and support joint health.
- Chia Seeds: Chia seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and protein. They help promote satiety, regulate blood sugar levels, and support digestive health. Chia seeds also contain essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, which are important for bone health and muscle function.
- Protein Powder: Adding protein powder to your smoothie helps support muscle repair and growth, especially after a workout. Choose a high-quality protein powder that contains essential amino acids necessary for protein synthesis and recovery.
By incorporating these nutrient-rich ingredients into your Strawberry Blackberry Sweet Potato Smoothie, you can create a delicious and nourishing beverage that supports your overall health and well-being.
You will find that the sweet potato will leave a little “grit” in your smoothie, not making it chunky or anything, but leaving a different “texture,” my friend would say a bit “chalky.” I have found that beets can do that too. It doesn’t bother me in the least, but I just thought I would give you all the heads up 😉
