I have been sharing smoothie recipes with you guys for awhile now.  I think it’s obvious that fruits are delicious in it, but did you know that adding in your salad could so good for you?  In fact, I don’t even taste it!  Which to be honest, makes it easier for me to add in it daily 😉

For this smoothie recipe I layered in carrots, strawberries, banana, coconut water and greens into my Ninja Auto iQ.  I just grab a handful of whatever salad I have in the refrigerator for the greens.  I will admit that I have yet to use kale, but that is on my agenda to try one day soon!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie with greens

I love using carrots, they are full of vitamins and they are a “sweeter” veggie, so the flavor in my smoothie is very mild.  You will notice that I use Juice Plus+ Complete Shake Mix in my smoothies, feel free to use a protein mix or shake mix that you use or leave it out.

Here are some of the health benefits of the ingredients I selected for this easy smoothie:

Strawberries – These red beauties are loaded with vitamins, fiber, and potassium.  As an added benefit – they are fat-free 🙂

Carrots – The orange powerfood will give you vitamin A and is also linked to preventing cancer, giving you healthier looking skin and aids in digestion.

Bananas – Besides tasting great, they are loaded with potassium which helps muscles recover and relax, and they have also been known to help you sleep better.

Protein Powder – Helps keep you full longer and makes your smoothie extra creamy.

  1. This looks delicious! I haven’t tried making a smoothie with greens, I thought they would make my smoothie a greenish color. I’ll definitely try greens the next time I make me a smoothie.

  2. This actually sounds delicious! I make a fruit smoothie every day with my Ninja blender and I add almond milk, raw cacao nibs and vegan protein powder. I’ve never added any veggies or greens to my smoothie yet, because I wasn’t sure how I’d like the taste. But this recipe sounds very tasty, so I may give it a try tomorrow.

  3. My favorite smoothie is anything with strawberries. I will definitely trying this one! 🙂
