How to store leftover French Toast Muffins

  1. Refrigeration: If you plan to eat the muffins within a few days, cover them and toss them in the fridge. Once the muffins have cooled completely, transfer them to an airtight container or resealable plastic bag. Refrigerate for up to 3-4 days.
  2. Freezing: French Toast Muffins also freeze well. To freeze, allow the muffins to cool completely after baking. Then, individually wrap each muffin in plastic wrap – (personally, I love press n seal) to prevent freezer burn. Place the wrapped muffins in a freezer-safe bag or container. Frozen muffins can be stored for up to 2-3 months.
  3. Thawing and Reheating: When you’re ready to enjoy the muffins, simply remove them from the refrigerator or freezer and let them thaw at room temperature for a few hours or overnight in the refrigerator. Once thawed, you can reheat the muffins in the microwave for a quick breakfast on the go or in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes until warmed through. If desired, you can also toast the muffins for a slightly crispy texture. If you are in a rush, pop one in the microwave or air fryer on a low seating.
  4. Storage Tips: To maintain freshness, it’s essential to store the muffins properly. Make sure they are completely cooled before storing to prevent condensation, which can make them soggy.

Best sides to pair with your Breakfast Muffins

  1. Fresh Fruit: A colorful assortment of fresh fruit adds a refreshing contrast to the sweetness of the muffins.
  2. Whipped Cream: Because who doesn’t love whipped cream?! For an indulgent treat, serve French Toast Muffins with a dollop of homemade or store-bought whipped cream.
  3. Yogurt: Creamy Greek yogurt or flavored yogurt makes a creamy and tangy accompaniment to French Toast Muffins. Serve it in a bowl alongside the muffins topped with some fresh fruit.
  4. Bacon and/or Sausage: I mean really, does this option need an explanation?
  5. Eggs: Add protein to your breakfast spread by serving up some eggs. I swear my husband can’t eat breakfast without 1-2 eggs on the plate!
  6. Hash Browns or Breakfast Potatoes: Crispy hash browns or seasoned breakfast potatoes make a delicious side dish for French Toast Muffins.
