Things To Do at Adventure Island Tampa

Adventure Island – Florida Family Fun

I love living in Florida – we are so close to so many amazing parks and water parks that there is no way you can ever be bored! In fact, now that summer is here – the water parks were calling out to the kids 🙂 The best part is that we have an amazing park right here in Tampa – Adventure Island!

Have you been before? This summer was actually our first time going and I know it won’t be our last. We live in North Tampa and the drive was just about 20 minutes, we were able to pack some snacks and we were on our way to all day water fun before 9:30 am!

Located right across the street from Busch Gardens, Adventure Island is 30 acres of water-drenched fun in the sun, featuring the ultimate combination of high-speed thrills and tropical, tranquil surroundings for guests of all ages.

In fact, it s very easy to JUMP right into the FUN at Adventure Island! I don’t think my kiddos stopped smiling all day! We started our day in Paradise Lagoon. Here you will enjoy Cliff Diving – Steven loved the huge jumps!

A FREE-FALL Slide – this one both the kiddos went on over-and-over again!

We actually this lilly-pad climbing adventure our personal Ninja Warriors course 🙂 If you never watched the TV show, it’s where people compete in fun obstacles!

From there we had to check out some of the slides! There are a ton to choose from, Steven did the Racer by himself – Sadie chickened out last minute 😉 We all enjoyed the slides over on Runaway Rapids (there are FIVE to choose from!), but the tube rides were definitely may favorite. I like being able to sit back and relax and have fun all at the same time!

And if your family doesn’t like slides, there are a ton of other options for you! The Rambling Bayou is fabulous – we cruised around on this lazy river three times! And of course there are several Splash Parks – we set out our chairs for the day right by Splash Attack in a perfect shaded area. It also happened to be by the Dippin Dots vendor – which my kids were thrilled about 😉 Don’t forget to dive into the Wave Pool – the waves were HUGE! And they seemed to never end – it was a great way to cool off!

If you are looking for a bit of extra shade and relaxation, there are personal Cabanas that are available to rent for the day as well. This is a great way to make sure to have your seats shaded all day long!

We were at the park for about 6 hours and there were a few rides and attractions that we didn’t get the chance to do, and the kids are already asking me if we can go back!

Adventure Island is definitely a way to spend a fabulous FAMILY FUN day together, the location is perfect here in Central Florida and there is really something for kids (and adults!) of all ages to enjoy.
