Ingredients You’ll Need
You don’t need a long shopping list for this Christmas appetizer wreath recipe, which is good because the holidays are expensive enough 😉 A handful of fresh, colorful ingredients is all it takes to make something that looks fancy but couldn’t be easier.
- Tangerines, peeled and segmented
- Mozzarella pearls
- Grape or cherry tomatoes
- Baby spinach or basil leaves
- Rosemary for garnish
- Balsamic glaze (optional)
How to Make a Tangerine Caprese Wreath
Once you’ve gathered your ingredients, the fun begins! This part feels almost like arts and crafts – you’re basically building little edible ornaments and arranging them into a wreath.
- Skewer the ingredients – Thread tangerine segments, mozzarella, tomatoes, and spinach/basil onto toothpicks. Alternate for variety.
- Arrange into a wreath shape – Place the kabobs in a circle on a serving platter. For a fuller look, create two layers so the wreath keeps its shape as guests grab bites.
- Add garnish – Scatter extra spinach or basil leaves around the edges and tuck in fresh rosemary sprigs for that extra holiday touch.
- Optional drizzle – Right before serving, add a light drizzle of balsamic glaze for even more flavor.

Ingredients
- Autumn Honey Tangerines peeled and segmented
- Mozzarella Pearls
- Grape or cherry tomatoes
- Baby Spinach leaves or basil leaves
- Balsamic Glaze for drizzle if desired
- Fresh rosemary for garnish
- Large toothpicks I used bamboo loop cocktail toothpicks
Instructions
- Skewer all the ingredients onto the toothpicks – I like to alternate the order the few times
- Arrange the kabobs into a circle/wreath.
- Garnish with rosemary for that extra wreath-effect.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Every holiday menu needs at least one dish that’s stress-free but still makes people say “wow.” That’s exactly what this tangerine caprese wreath delivers.
- Looks like holiday décor but is completely edible.
- Just 10 minutes to assemble, no cooking required.
- Naturally gluten-free and vegetarian.
- A perfect mix of sweet citrus, creamy cheese, and savory tomato.
Tips for Serving
- Make it ahead: Assemble the skewers a few hours before your party, cover and store in the fridge. Add the balsamic drizzle just before serving.
- Mix it up: Try using arugula instead of spinach for a peppery bite.
- Pair it with wine: A crisp rosé or sauvignon blanc pairs beautifully with the citrus and mozzarella.
Variations & Flavor Twists
You can keep it classic or mix it up depending on what’s in your fridge or what flavors you love most. Here are a few fun ideas to try!
- Use mandarins or clementines if you don’t have tangerines.
- Try marinated mozzarella pearls for extra flavor.
- Add prosciutto or salami to turn it into a heartier bite.
- Swap balsamic glaze for a honey drizzle if you want sweeter. Or hot honey for a little heat!
Holiday hosting doesn’t have to be complicated. This Tangerine Caprese Wreath is proof that a few fresh ingredients, arranged with a little creativity, can become both a centerpiece and a conversation starter. Whether you call them tangerine caprese kabobs or a caprese wreath, one thing’s for sure: your guests will be reaching for seconds and asking for the recipe.
