Sweet Beet & Greens Power Smoothie
I love smoothies. How else can you get in multiple servings of fruits and vegetables in one serving and have it taste great? I have found that smoothies not only give me energy and fill me up, but they also make me feel good. I would guess because I am giving myself all those nutrients that my body is craving.
I had several Natalie’s Juices in my refrigerator and from the first moment I saw the Orange Beet Juice, I knew it would be the perfect addition to my next smoothie. I wasn’t worried about adding extra calories or other yucky stuff into my smoothie because Natalie’s Juices are made of what they say. So, my Orange Beet Juice is made of FLORIDA Oranges and Beet Puree. That’s it. 100% goodness in a bottle 🙂
Here is what was in my Sweet Beet & Greens Power Smoothie and why I selected each ingredient:
Earthbound Farm Organic Sweet Kale Blend – Greens…kale in particular…is great for you. Just grab a handful every time you grab your smoothie blender and put it there! You’ll thank me for it 😉
Strawberries – Not only do these adorable red berries taste great, but they are loaded with vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. As an added benefit, they are low-calorie and fat-free.
Carrots – These little orange guys are linked to preventing cancer and giving you healthier looking skin, plus they give you vitamin A and aid in digestion.
Bananas – Did you know that eating a banana can boost your mood? Well, if that isn’t enough reason to add some to your day (and smoothie!) they also aid in reducing swelling, aid weight loss, strengthen your nervous system, and they have high levels of potassium and iron.
Natalie’s Juices Orange Beet Juice – Oranges are a vitamin C powerhouse and beets are a superfood. You can’t go wrong with this one. It’s a Powerhouse Superfood Juice! Plus, I love that this company is out of Florida, supporting local business (woman-owned even!) is a favorite thing of mine to do 🙂
Chia seeds – They are nutritional powerhouses, I add them to every smoothie.
Turmeric – It has so many benefits, but one of the main ones is it helps with inflammation. So, if you work out a lot or have tired muscles, it’s great for you!
Protein Powder – When my smoothie is a meal replacement for me and especially before a workout, I like adding in protein powder.
