Smoothies are a healthy and easy way to start your day. This Avocado Mango Smoothie recipe has a blend of superfoods and vitamins that your healthy lifestyle needs!
Avocado Mango Smoothie
I know what you are thinking. I said I made an Avocado Mango Smoothie and there isn’t mango pictured above. Well, it is below 😉 I have yet to master the art of cutting a mango and making it look pretty. I am sure there is a technique of some sort, maybe one day I’ll google it…until then, you all have to deal with my butchered mango. I have decided that it still tastes good even if I don’t cut it pretty 🙂
Have you ever considered drinking the main ingredient to guacamole? I am well aware that avocado is filled with all the “good fats” that our body needs, but I will admit that drinking it sounded a bit off. But, then again if you would have asked me 6 months ago if I would be using a blender to make smoothies with any kind of vegetables I would have told you were crazy….now I do it daily! So, I figured why not give it a whirl. And I was pleasantly surprised! I hope you are too 🙂
Now, here is my Avocado Mango Protein Shake (with coconut water) Recipe, be sure to Print It and Pin It so that you can make it again and again.
Avocado Mango Smoothie
Equipment
Ingredients
- ½ avocado - peeled and pitted
- ½ banana
- 5 slices cucumber
- ⅓ mango - diced
- 4 oz coconut water - or your choice of liquid
- 4 ice cubes
Instructions
- Place ingredients as listed above into your blending device
- Blend until smooth
- Enjoy!
Here are some of the health benefits to the ingredients I added to this protein smoothie:
Avocados – Besides being loaded with the “good fat”, they help heart health, lower cholesterol and lower triglycerides. Plus, they make your smoothie extra creamy 🙂
Mango – The antioxidant in mango has been found to help prevent cancer, mangoes are also thought to help lower cholesterol, improve eye health, and improve digestion.
Bananas – Besides tasting great, they are loaded with potassium which helps muscles recover and relax, and they have also been known to help you sleep better.
Cucumbers – These are great for rehydration. Cucumbers are also a great source of vitamin B, so that means they are a natural pick-me-up.

Looks healthy and delicious!
I’ve got to try this. Maybe I’ll opt to leave out the cucumber since kids don’t really like the taste in drinkform..or hopefully it’s subtle enough that they won’t taste it.
It is very subtle – let me know what you think when you try it 🙂
