Smoothies are an important part of my day.  It is the one meal that makes me less than 5 minutes to prepare, I can make it anyway I want to, and it is always loaded with fruits and vegetables.  I ran my 4th half marathon this past weekend and last week I was really making sure I was giving my body everything it needed to be prepared for that long run.  And this Blueberry Avocado and Greens Power Smoothie was created!

I was recently selected to do a really exciting campaign with some of my awesome fellow Tampa Bay Bloggers and organicgirl, and this is actually one of two of my creative recipes that you guys will see that have Organicgirl products in it.  Well, let’s be honest, you will definitely be seeing more than two in the future, but there will be two for this fun campaign 😉

Blueberry Avocado and Greens Protein Shake

In my Blueberry Avocado and Greens Power Smoothie you will find fabulously fresh ingredients.

Avocados – Besides being loaded with the “good fat”, they help heart health, lower cholesterol and lower triglycerides. Plus, they make your smoothie extra creamy 🙂

Bananas – Besides tasting great, they are loaded with potassium which helps muscles recover and relax, and they have also been known to help you sleep better.

Blueberries – These beautiful berries will also give your body an antioxidant boost.

Cucumbers – These are great for rehydration. Cucumbers are also a great source of vitamin B, so that means they are a natural pick-me-up.

Blueberry Avocado Protein Smoothie with greens

Have you seen the organicgirl’s New Greens in stores yet?

With carefully chosen layers of sweet, garden-fresh and peppery flavors, say goodbye to boring salads and hello to salads that taste exciting and delicious.

Sweet Pea – Delicate, fresh sweet pea shoots add a satisfying crunch and hint of juicy sweetness to your salad. Sweet Pea also packs the power of protein—5 grams per serving!

PEPPERGREENS – With a flavor-charged blend of special, tender-leaf greens, it also adds a kick of peppery heat to salads. Spicy enough to make you say ‘wow,’ the mix features green mustard—a special variety with a wasabi-like heat, arugula, cress (the hottest of them all) and red mustard.

  1. That’s an antioxidant punch right there. I like the lemon slice added and need to remember to keep those on hand. I don’t care for banana flavor though, bleh. It stays with me too much.

    1. You don’t taste the banana in this one much at ALL, with all the other flavors in there. I do like to add the banana because it’s creamy. Let me know if you try it with or without it 🙂

  2. I haven’t seen these greens in stores yet, but I recently tried adding greens to smoothies and I soooo love it! I will keep an eye out for these greens, and I would like to try this smoothie – as I love adding avocado to smoothies, too.

  3. The blueberry avocado and greens smoothie looks delicious and I would love to try this healthy drink.

  4. This smoothie looks extremely well balanced! I always appreciate the opportunity to add some extra greens to my diet.

  5. I drink a smoothie every morning after my morning jog. I will have to try this one! I have used blueberries and avocado before but not peppergreens. I think my adult son would also love this..he is a runner too.

  6. This looks really good with the blueberries and avocado. I have never tried the sweet pea greens but seems like It would be a good addition.

  7. definitely not a combination that would have occurred to me, but it sounds intriguing and definitely powerful.. will try it!

  8. What an interesting combination! I really like each of these ingredients on their own and will definitely try them together with your recipe.

  9. I tried this w/o banana, which I am allergic to. Also w/o blueberries, which I love but couldn’t find any fresh. So I used a handful of strawberries. It was good.
