It’s Graduation Season.  Another year has passed us by…can you believe it?!  Whether you are celebrating Kindergarten Graduation or College Graduation, a party very well may in your near future.  I know that planning any type of gathering or party can sometimes be stressful, so I am excited to share these Tips On How To Plan The Perfect Graduation Party!

  • Dine on Something Delicious: One of the most important parts of any party is the food! However, not everyone likes to cook and catering is usually associated with a huge price tag. However, with the Upromise dining program, you can earn 5% back when you buy from participating local restaurants!
  • Provide Party Favors: Though not expected, simple party favor bags can be a great way to thank guests for taking the time to celebrate with you. Walmart.com has great options like these fun goodies that can double as party décor!
  • Offer Party Games: A good host always manages to keep their guests entertained. Be sure to have a few games or activities readily available that are fun for parents and students alike. We recommend having a few activities that are physical and a few that you can play sitting down. For instance, check out these fun games from Upromise partners Sears and Kohl’s!
  • Make a Photo Memory Board: One staple of the modern day graduation party is a memory board, including pictures of the graduate growing up. Utilize the Upromise eCoupon program at your favorite drug or grocery store to save money on printing out the physical photos!
  • Ask for Gifts that Keep on Giving: Guests inevitably bring gifts to graduation parties. Why not ask them to contribute to the graduate’s college fund while shopping? With Upromise’s Friends and Family program, they can donate a portion of their savings to your children while shopping online where they would normally shop – after all, it takes a village!

Now that how have the tips on how to make your day special, are you worried about cost?  Of course you are.  That’s why I love Upromise.  They have so many partners where you can actually earn money towards your child’s education just by shopping for the items you were going to buy anyway!  To date, Upromise members have earned more than $900,000,000 and counting, helping families contribute to college tuition, expenses and loans.  That is a LOT of money!

  1. Great party tips/ideas! My little big brother (I’ll be 26 and 5’7″, but he towers over me & is at least 6’3″) just graduated high school and turned 18 the weekend after graduation. Graduation and that 18th Birthday always seems to bring to reality how old everyone really is. We only had delicious food, but we have such a sassy crowd and make our own entertainment. 🙂 Congratulations Grads of 2015!!! Reach for the stars young ones!

  2. Great ideas! The boyfriend is graduating this month and I plan to throw him a surprised party next weekend. Thanks for your tips.
