Ingredients

  • 15 oz Chickpeas, reserve liquid from can one can
  • 1 jalapeño
  • 1 tangerine peeled and segmented
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • Juice from one lemon
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions

  • Add chickpeas, tangerine, garlic, jalapeño, tahini, and lemon juice to a food processor.
  • Slowly drizzle in olive oil while blending.
  • Add just enough reserved chickpea liquid (I used about 1 tablespoon) to reach a smooth, creamy consistency.
  • Season with sea salt and pepper to taste.
  • Enjoy with fresh veggies, pita chips, or crackers, or spread it on sandwiches and pizza for a flavor upgrade.
