Place the bag of peeled Crunch Pak apples into a saucepan.
Add the water, sugar and lemon juice and simmer over a low heat for 20-30 minutes or until the apples are tender and just starting to break up.
Put the prepared apples into food processor.
Add cinnamon and vanilla into the food processor.
Blend until smooth, will resemble applesauce.
Add the apple mixture to a medium bowl and mix in the whipped topping with spatula until it's blended in.
Crust Instructions
While the apples are cooking, prepare the crust.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line 8-inch square pan with aluminum foil.
Combine ingredients in food processor, blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Press onto bottom of prepared pan.
Bake 15 minutes.
When the crust is done in the oven, allow it to cool and pour the apple/whipped topping mixture on top.
Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
Caramel Drizzle Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine light brown sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Add milk and cook over medium heat, until desired thickness.
Remove from heat, add vanilla and stir to combine.
Once the apple bars have been refrigerated for at least 3 - 4 hours, make the caramel drizzle.
Add the drizzle to prepared dessert.
Enjoy!
Notes
Refrigerate unused sauce. If sauce becomes too thick after refrigerating, warm in microwave for 10 - 20 seconds until warm or add additional milk and reheat over low heat in a small saucepan until smooth if necessary.
