The Florida State Fair is coming to Tampa! The Florida State Fair is held at the fairgrounds from February 8-19, 2018. Will you be there? While Food Wine Sunshine will receive passes to attend the Florida State Fair for free, all opinions are my own.

Are you ready for the 2018 Florida State Fair?!   The Florida State Fair – always in Tampa, always in February – will be held on February 8-19, 2018.  This year there will have something for everyone this year. With strolling acts, Extreme Sports Series, Meet & Greets with Paw Patrol and Rusty Rivets, Little Farm Hands, Teen Stars Live, Draft Horse Pull, Dance Moms and even a Robotics Championship!

New for 2018, the Florida State Fair launched the Extreme Sports Series. The Extreme Sports Series showcases the death-defying acts from across the country to entertain fair-goers each day.  This will be my son’s favorite 🙂

The Florida State Fair attracts more than 500,000 people over the course of its twelve-day event, it covers fifteen acres and boasts the largest Midway in North America with 110 different rides.

Tickets can be purchased at any participating Publix Supermarkets in the Tampa Bay area or online at www.floridastatefair.com.  Don’t forget to get your ride armbands – they are only $17.50 for UNLIMITED rides!

In 2018, the Florida State Fair is unveiling thirteen new attractions including meet and greets with Paw Patrol and Rusty Rivets; Teen Stars Live; Florida State Fair Dance Championships featuring stars of Dance Moms; Little Farm Hands presented by Mosaic; BMX/FMX Freestyle Madness, The Ninja Experience, Mini Monster Trucks and so much more.

The ever-enticing Fair foods for 2018 include a Surf N Turf Sundae, Southern Catfish Sundae and Barbeque Pulled Pork Ribbon Fries.

Musical acts at the Florida State Fair include Country Gold Tour, Kazual, Screaming Orphans, Fuel on Fire, Dennis Lee, Vocal Trash and local Tampa bands including Kenzie Wheeler, Reverend Barry & the Funk, Alex Lopez, Nathan Hager, Taylor Reed and many more.

Did you know that The Florida State Fair was founded 114 years ago in 1904 and was originally housed at the Tampa Hotel, now known as The University of Tampa?

  1. Florida fair is a nice fun day out. However you need to be EXTREMELY CAREFULL of the food vendors. While at the fair, 3 food vendors gave me change of a 10.00 bill for a 20.00. Of course I mentioned it and then I got back the other 10. This not only happened to me but my wife and another gal in front of me.
    These vendors are there to steal your money. I also suggest you not have your child purchase something without your presence.
    Buyers as you know whip out 10’s and 20’ so beware.

    Also if you ask for a receipt, forget it. Why doesn’t rules be set so these businesses account for all the income received and not beating the government.
